What Raw Means in This Procurement Route
This page concerns a requested raw-material specification with verified Vietnamese sourcing. It does not declare every Vietnamese product raw, single donor or completely unprocessed. Ask for the supplier’s definition of raw and a written processing history; establish which collection, cleaning, sorting and preparation steps are allowed.
Vietnamese Hair vs Raw Hair explains why origin and processing are independent.
Raw-Material Acceptance Brief
- Origin documentation linked to the supplied material or lot
- Declared preparation and processing history; treatments excluded from the claim
- Cuticle condition/orientation requirement and how it is evaluated
- Natural variation, mixing policy if relevant, color and texture reference
- Measured usable length, weight, fullness, short-hair ratio and ends
- Traceable reference sample and rules for substitution
Natural Variation & Sorting
Do not expect a sourcing label to remove sample variation. Compare material prepared to the same length and weight and document how sorting affects fullness. If donor count is important, specify the requirement and request evidence; photographs cannot establish it. The raw label should not be used as an automatic quality ranking.
Testing Before Product Development
Agree a wash/conditioning protocol before testing shedding, tangling and feel. If color-lift or bleaching capability is required, run a controlled test on the exact sample and record the method and result. No universal blonde target, lifespan, heat or performance guarantee is offered here.

From Material to Wholesale Product
Identify whether the requested material will become bundles, an extension system or a completed wig. Downstream wefting, bonding, lace ventilation, coloring or texture finishing must be reflected in the finished-product description. A raw starting material does not make every final product unprocessed.

Approval & Repeat Supply
The quote should state material identity, processing limits, lot reference, tolerances and inspection requirements. Retain the approved sample and request approval if supply or preparation changes. Review QC and sample planning before committing to bulk.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is all Vietnamese hair raw hair?
No. Vietnamese is an origin or sourcing descriptor; raw is a processing specification. Confirm the history and specification of the actual sample.
How do raw, virgin and Remy differ?
Supplier terminology varies. Define processing history and cuticle/orientation requirements in writing rather than treating an origin or grade label as proof.
Can the hair be colored or bleached?
Capability depends on the actual material and processing history. Request a controlled test on the approved sample before committing to a color target or publishing a performance claim.
Does raw mean single donor?
No automatic donor claim is made. If donor count is part of the procurement requirement, define it and obtain evidence for the proposed supply.
