MARKET-READY COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT

Build a Focused Glueless Wig Collection Before You Build a Large One

Start with a small number of clearly differentiated product roles. VAYORA can help turn the collection direction into defined constructions, samples and approved references before you expand lengths, colors and textures.

Illustrative Assortment Framework

Illustrative framework for professional buyers. Final specifications, MOQ, lead time, pricing and availability are confirmed by project.

Move From the Collection Brief to an Approved Reference

Review the collection samples together, record accepted revisions and confirm the reference version before bulk handoff.

Five SKUs. Five Jobs.

A focused assortment is stronger when every SKU has a reason to exist. The following five-role framework is designed to help buyers test different customer needs without multiplying the product matrix too early.

Start with customer roles, not five random styles.

This is an illustrative assortment framework. It is not a list of universal U.S. best sellers and does not guarantee sales performance.

SKU 01 — Everyday Hero

Start With the Product That Defines the Collection

The Everyday Hero should communicate the clearest version of the brand’s easy-wear proposition. Keep the first version controlled enough to sample and repeat before multiplying lengths or colors.

Everyday Hero · Development Card

Customer Role
Everyday / easy-wear customer
Commercial Purpose
Core easy-wear product that represents the collection most clearly.
Product Direction
Glueless straight or body-wave direction; a 5×5-style working direction where appropriate, subject to final development.
Specification Focus
Glueless cap/security system; lace area, material and color; hairline shape, plucking and knot appearance; hair material, length, texture and color; density direction and finished weight; requested finishing; private-label SKU identification.
Sample Approval Focus
Appearance, fit and security, hairline, lace, movement, finished weight and repeatability against the numbered sample. Pre-cut / pre-plucked / pre-bleached only when requested and approved.
SKU 02 — Premium Upgrade

Give the Buyer a Clear Reason to Trade Up

The premium SKU should not be the same product with a higher price. Define a visible or experiential upgrade that can be explained and approved.

Premium Upgrade · Development Card

Customer Role
Customer seeking a visible or experiential trade-up
Commercial Purpose
Give the buyer a clear reason to choose the premium position.
Product Direction
Larger lace / more flexible parting / refined natural-look direction, only where feasibility is confirmed.
Specification Focus
Review larger lace area, parting, refined hairline, hair specification, lighter balance, custom color or packaging as project options to confirm—not an included feature list. Higher density does not establish higher quality.
Sample Approval Focus
Show the difference on the physical sample. If it cannot be shown or explained in one or two clear sentences, the SKU position is too vague.
SKU 03 — Texture Direction

Use Texture to Serve a Customer, Not Fill a Grid

A texture SKU should represent a clear wearing preference or customer identity. Sample the texture for appearance, consistency, movement and how it works with the glueless construction before expanding the range.

Texture Direction · Development Card

Customer Role
Customer with a defined texture preference
Commercial Purpose
Serve texture-specific demand rather than decorative variety.
Product Direction
Kinky-straight or selected natural-texture direction to be defined and confirmed during development.
Specification Focus
Target texture; hair material; length; finished weight/fullness; hairline; cap; color; repeatability; packaging presentation.
Sample Approval Focus
Compare appearance, texture consistency, movement and the interaction with the agreed glueless cap. Use the approved texture reference for repeat review.
SKU 04 — Short / Easy-Wear Direction

Add a Different Silhouette, Not Another Version of the Same Product

A bob or shorter silhouette can broaden the collection while keeping the easy-wear idea. In shorter products, cut consistency, shape, hairline and finished balance become especially visible.

Short / Easy-Wear Direction · Development Card

Customer Role
Customer seeking a distinct shorter everyday silhouette
Commercial Purpose
Broaden the range without duplicating the Everyday Hero.
Product Direction
Bob or another shorter easy-wear silhouette, with final cap and cut confirmed on the sample.
Specification Focus
Finished shape, visual length, cut consistency, hairline, cap fit, finished weight and front/back balance.
Sample Approval Focus
Finished shape; actual visual length; front/back balance; movement; cap fit; end finish. Approve the finished shape, not only nominal length.
SKU 05 — Visual Color Direction

Use Color as a Controlled Test

Color can create a strong visual point of difference, but it also adds production and inventory complexity. Begin with one controlled color direction rather than multiplying every length and texture.

Visual Color Direction · Development Card

Customer Role
Customer responding to a defined visual color accent
Commercial Purpose
Create controlled visual differentiation for the intended channel.
Product Direction
Selected highlight / balayage / color direction, subject to actual development feasibility and sample approval.
Specification Focus
Base color, placement, root treatment where applicable, tone, hair processing requirements, length, texture and SKU identification.
Sample Approval Focus
Base color; highlight/balayage placement where applicable; root treatment; tone; consistency; lighting reference; packaging/SKU identification.

Five Roles Can Become Fifty SKUs Very Quickly

If every product role is immediately multiplied across five lengths, four colors and multiple densities, the collection stops being a controlled test.

Start with the smallest matrix that can answer the commercial question: which product role deserves expansion?

01 →Controlled Test Matrix
02 →Approved Winners
03Selective Expansion

“Approved Winners” means roles supported by your own sample approval and test evidence—not a VAYORA sales ranking.

Review My Collection Plan

Keep the Roles. Change the Specifications.

The five roles are a planning system, not fixed VAYORA SKUs. Buyers can change construction, lace, length, texture, color, fullness, cap, finishing and private-label requirements according to the target market and approved sample.

Construction

Glueless / lace-front / closure / other verified direction. Confirm the platform during development.

Lace

5×5 may be a working direction where appropriate. Final area, material, color and other size requests require feasibility confirmation and sample approval.

Length

Define by SKU role and approved finished appearance.

Texture

Straight / wave / curl / selected natural-texture direction, subject to confirmation.

Color

Natural / selected color development, subject to confirmation on a physical reference.

Fullness

Density direction and finished weight as appropriate; distribution and balance matter.

Cap & Security

Size, adjustment and securing components to be agreed for the selected platform.

Pre-Cut

Requested lace-edge result and shape, separately approved.

Pre-Plucked

Requested hairline graduation, separately approved.

Pre-Bleached

Requested knot appearance and processing boundaries, separately approved.

Private Label

Labels, packaging, SKU identification and approved artwork.

Collection Development Workflow

  1. Define the Market
  2. Choose the Five Roles
  3. Define Specifications
  4. Develop Samples
  5. Review the Collection Together
  6. Approve References
  7. Quote / Production
  8. Expand Only Where Evidence Supports It

The goal is not to make the first assortment large. The goal is to make the first assortment learnable, approvable and repeatable.
